Christina Stayeas is the founder of GetWell Rehabilitation, LLC. She received her Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science from George Washington University in 1997, Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from Marymount University in 2000, and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Marymount University in 2007. She was published in the Journal of Physical Therapy Education in 2001.
Her experience spans the whole spectrum of physical therapy settings including acute care, in-patient rehabilitation, and out-patient rehabilitation, both for orthopedic and neurological impairments. Working with patients with Multiple Sclerosis has been a passion of hers since 2001 and she continues to spend at least half of her schedule treating this complex diagnosis. Other areas of experience include Parkinson's Disease, Muscular Dystrophy, ALS, as well as complex orthopedic disorders. She has deepened her knowledge with continuing education courses involving advanced manual therapy treatment techniques, including Dry Needling, Myofascial Release (J. Barnes MFR techniques, Visceral mobilization), Joint Mobilizations, and Muscular Re-education techniques to improve gait and function and to reduce pain. In addition, Dr. Stayeas has participated in many patient-education public speaking engagements. Living a healthy lifestyle is core to Dr. Stayeas's beliefs on staying well as you age. This includes managing pain syndromes, achieving weight loss goals, and staying active to enjoy life. She will utilize her skills to meet your goals and help you maintain them.
